3rd GNAAP 2016 ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE

Resolution at GNAAP 2016 ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE (14TH MAY, 2016)

Theme: ADR an effective Tool for Resolving Electoral Disputes

Resolution
1. As Electoral issues of this country are always sharp to generate conflicts within the healthy citizens of this country at polling areas, Electoral areas, Constituencies and the Nation as one whole country, the Constitutional Instrument (CI) which regulates the electioneering processes according to conference must be seen as an instrument to facilitate peace, unity and a healthy country. For these reason, Mediation which is friendly and quick to resolve blips and conflicts Act 798 of ADR should be incorporated into formulation of the constitutional Instrument (CI) in the subsequent elections.

The association GNAAP shall have audience in reference to the above proposal with the Chairperson of Electoral Commission and other stake holders including Political parties to consider the proposal of Mediation intervention mechanism at all polling stations during voter Registration if it is still considered and at General Elections.

2. Considering the hostile nature of Registration during the just ended Limited voter Registration period, members are entreated to read thoroughly the Constitutional instrument (CI 91) to acquire the requested knowledge as an instrument for mediation when need arises in the upcoming December 7, Parliamentary and Presidential Elections.

3. GNAAP members must undertake probono services in their communities as social responsibilities to establish their presence within their local area of living as a tool for marketing the profession.
